At Least Camacho Wanted the Crops to Grow
The comparisons between our current timeline and that laid out by the 2006 documentary film Idiocracy are so accurate they're no longer funny.
When the June 14 UFC Event was held on the South Lawn of the White House, it obviously drew comparisons to Monday Night Rehabilitation. Call that just the latest in a long line of the "dumbing down" of our nation, and more than a few are saying the current US is similar to that being run by President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho in the film.
But honestly? We'd actually be far better off with President Camacho running things. At least he wanted the crops to grow.
When President Donald J. Trump said this week that a bipartisan housing bill aimed at making simply living more affordable was "a yawn," that right there illustrated the most glaring difference between the fictional farcical president and the one we actually have today.
Camacho is an idiot, sure. He’s not malicious. Camacho's cabinet might be filled with idiots. But they're not evil.
They know their country needs help, that crops are dying. When presented with someone who might actually understand the problem, Camacho does the one thing Trump is temperamentally incapable of doing. He yields his authority to competence.
Turns out water -- like, from the toilet -- was what plants craved.
At least after Monday Night Rehabilitation, things started to turn around for Camacho's America.
In our current timeline, after the UFC fights were all cleaned off the White House lawn, all we get is more of the same.
Camacho for President 2028?
